Jane Pagel is the owner and founder of Little Squirt Grooming
and Boarding and Domestic Cat Rescue and Domestic Cat
Rescue Meetup.
Jane started her formal grooming education in 1989 when she
attended Midwest School of Dog Grooming in Chicago, Illinios.
After graduation, she worked at several grooming and boarding
kennels and then went to work for Midwest School of Dog
Grooming, as an assistant instructor. In 1991 she then went to
work at Going to the Dogs Grooming Salon in Arlington Heights,
Illinios. Jane was introduced to the rescue world, after her
mentor, Sharron Panther showed her how to care for and adopt
out the kittens from the trailer park across the street from the
salon. After managing the front counter for a year, she was then
transferred to the grooming school, Academy of Dog Grooming
Arts where she was an instructor.
A dream was realized when she moved to Wisconsin and she
could open up her own grooming, boarding and rescue facility.
In 1993 Little Squirt Grooming was established.
In 1999 she served as Assistant Constable to the town of
Greenville, Wisconsin. That job involved animal complaints,
picking up stray cats and dogs, which were all brought back to
Domestic Cat Rescue, her no kill shelter. These animals were
all vet checked, spayed, neutered and vaccinated and brought
back to health and then adopted out to forever homes. All these
animals from Greenville were cared for and housed with money
out her own pocket. In 2000-2005 Jane was elected to the
position of Constable and continued helping the homeless
animals of Greenville, while grooming and boarding. In 2006
she retired from the Constable position, due to the tremendous
growth of the town, and the personal growth of her business.
She now enjoys life with her husband, George, 2 Dachshunds, 2
Basset Hounds, a Boykin Spaniel , a Akita mix and a
Bloodhound, and 6 cats and many wonderful and supportive
friends!! She serves on the boards of the Eastshore Humane
Association, and the Fox River Valley Cat Club. She is
involved in the Dachshund Meetup in Appleton,Wi, Companion
Bird Meetup in Appleton, Wi and also is the group leader in the
Domestic Cat Rescue Meetup. She also enjoys helping her
husband George with his snowmobile racing.
